The marriage of Batara Guru and Dewi Uma gave birth to a son named Batara Kumara. She was upset because Batara Kumara was more nurtured by his father, and with Dewi Uma only while nursing. Dewi Uma then tortured his son until finally her deeds were found out by Batara Guru. Batara Guru became so mad and then cursed Dewi Uma into a human. After feeling sorry for what she did to her son, Dewi Uma wanted to build a palace like Swargaloka. Dewi Uma built a dormitory in the top of Mundi Hill and obtainedthe title Batari Rohini. In the dorm, Batari Rohini performedyoga samadhi. Batara Guru could not bear to take care of his own son and Batara Kumara was seated on a plangkiran (worshipping place) to guard the babies. Batara Guru was also finally descended into the world to where Dewi Uma did yoga samadhi and transformed into a dukuh / sacred human named Dukuh Jumpungan and met Dewi Uma.
