Diamond Beach is a stunning beach located on the eastern tip of the island of Nusa Penida. This beach is the most untouched beach because this beach has only been accessible since September 2018 where previously this beach could only be seen from the top of a cliff when we headed to the Atuh beach.
Diamond Beach Location and How to Get There
The location of Diamond Beach is in the village of Pelilit, Nusa Penida, which is about 1 hour from the Sampalan / Buyuk Pier and about 1.5 hours from the main port using a Motorcycle.
Maps to go to Diamond beach
Road to Diamond Beach and Atuh Beach
In general, the road from the port to the beach area at Atuh and the beach of Diamond has been very good with many sharp turns up the hill and derivatives. You can rent a motorbike to get to Diamond Beach with a trip of about 1 hour. Motorbike rental rates are around Rp. 80,000 to Rp. 100,000 and you can make an offer to get the best price.
Because the road has many inclines and sharp turns, you must be careful not to do anything undesirable
If you want to be more comfortable and safer, you can do it for Rp. 600,000 per 6 hours includes driver and gasoline. You can contact Mr. Rama directly at number 0853 3349 6534 if you need a car rental.
Access to Diamond Beach Beach
To go to Diamond Beach we will pass calcareous roads to reach the Diamond Beach parking lot. Parking provided is quite extensive and safe for quite a lot of cars and motorbikes. Near the parking lot, you want to enter the road to the beach, there will be a post for payment of entrance tickets. The entrance ticket is only IDR. 5,000 per person.
After we make an entrance ticket payment at the parking post. Next to it we will see a blackboard with writing. Which reads “welcome to Labuh Hampuak, Joglo House, Batu Abah and 300 meters to Atuh Beach. Only through pelilit you can see everything and at the bottom” Diamond Beach “”
So if you go to Atuh beach area, make sure to use the lane / road that goes through Pelilit Village. That way we will more easily visit all the places mentioned.
About 80 meters away we walk to the concrete trail from the parking lot which is also a parking lot to get to Atuh Beach, we will arrive at the road / stairs to go down to Diamond Beach beach. We will go through 200 steps which are quite steep and meandering. Need to be careful to pass it. The steps have been hung with a Mine Rope to hold us down the steep stairs.
Down the stairs to Diamond Beach may take around 10 to 15 minutes. Because the stairs are quite steep maybe for people who are afraid of heights or people who rarely trekking, this will make it a little tired. Well below … when you want to approach the beach there is a Warung Kecil/small shop that you can use to drink or eat with a simple menu provided. The price is also quite friendly.
During the trip on the road. You can take several photos against the background of Diamond Beach. In addition, you can also take photos against the background of the Atuh beach or Raja Lima View. You can see the scenery from the diamond beach itself, Tree House Batu Molenteng and several tourist attractions around Diamond Beach.
At the base of the cliff around the beach, small caves are formed naturally. We can use this small cave as a refuge from the heat of the sun.
Bathe or Swim at Diamond Beach
The sea water is very clear like most other beaches in Nusa Penida. We can take a bath at Diamond Beach while enjoying the beauty of the scenery around. But for security, we must still pay attention to the condition of the water because sometimes the waves are also quite high. So that might require us to be more careful. If you can come to this beach in the morning. Maybe the water will be very calm and it’s great for us to swim and enjoy the freshness of the water at Diamond Beach.
What to bring when visiting Diamond Beach?
The weather in Nusa Penida is quite hotter than on the island of Bali. Therefore you need a number of things below:
